Microplastics characteristics of lorjuk Solen sp. in east coastal waters of Surabaya

Abstract Microplastics (MPs) are plastic particles with sizes between <1 m to 5 mm. known contaminate the environment and marine organisms. One type of organism that is often found on east coast city Surabaya Lorjuk, namely bamboo shells or razor clams. Lorjuk seafood as a typical food Surabaya. This study aims determine potential for microplastic pollution in ( Solen sp.) from 3 locations observed were adult size 5-6 cm. With nature an infauna filter feeder, observations also carried out sediment water. The number, shape, color, size, polymer microplastics using optical microscope FTIR spectrophotometer. MPs all samples three locations, average number 6-7 MPs/ind. physical characteristics indicate fiber dominant form (>90%) majority being blue. have 20-40 µm low-density polyethylene (LDPE) polymer. results Pearson correlation test showed there was effect relationship around where lived (water column sediment).
